Band Aids Don’t Heal

Band Aids Don’t Heal

When you get a paper cut, the natural thing to do (after getting over the intense pain) is clean it up and put a Band Aid on it to protect it from getting irritated.  After a few days when the bandage comes off, the cut is hardly noticeable.  The question is, did the Band Aid do the healing?

Band Aids and Chiropractic Adjustments have something in common… neither one have the ability to heal you.  Sure, both are helpful after an injury.  But they can only provide an environment conducive for healing to take place.  Band Aids approximate damaged skin to optimize the mending, adjustments approximate misaligned vertebrae to optimize nerve flow – but it’s the innate healing power of Life inside you that scripts the repair.

The next time you come for an adjustment to instantly ease your headache, your sciatica or your sleeping problems, understand it’s not the adjustment that produces the result.  Chiropractors don’t perform miracles.  The doctor inside you is the one who does that work.

Healing with the Brakes on

Healing with the Brakes on

Have you ever felt like you're spinning your wheels when it comes to staying healthy? You eat right, exercise five days a week and try to get enough sleep – you've got the 'pedal to the metal' when it comes to staying fit, but something's holding you back. Maybe it's time to pay more attention to your Nerve System.

Although you've got one foot on the gas, Subluxations can put the brakes on your progress. Subluxations are troublesome misalignments in your spine that irritate your Nerve System and rob you of potential health energy. The effect is like trying to drive with your brakes on. You've got your fitness throttle wide open, but you're going nowhere fast.

If you want to stop spinning your wheels when it comes to your health, prioritize your spinal care. When it comes to unleashing more health horse power, nothing releases the brake like Chiropractic can.

A Party in Your Spine

A Party in Your Spine

So what’s with the popping associated with certain types of Chiropractic adjustments?  Isn’t cracking your joints supposed to be bad for you?

Not all Chiropractic techniques involve the ‘cavitation’ of joints (the escape of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, which releases joint pressure).  Some use table or instrument assisted adjustments where no appreciable cavitation is experienced.  The ones that do however are no less safe, comfortable and effective at reducing spinal fixation, clearing nerve interference (subluxations) and improving your health.  As a matter of fact, it’s been shown by John Hopkins University that joint cavitation (specifically in the hand) does not contribute to the formation of arthritis as falsely believed by grandmothers worldwide!

When you hear the noise from a professionally delivered adjustment, it’s similar to the pressure release you get from opening a bottle of champagne.  It’s like having a party in your spine!  Ultimately, with less pressure your joints move better, line up better and just plain feel better.

Keystone of Health

Keystone of Health

The strength and stability of an arch is unparalleled in architecture.  Each block supports massive loads from above while evenly dissipating stress to the foundation below - the most important block being the keystone. Without it, the entire structure would fail.

If your health was an arch made of building blocks like good dietary habits, proper rest and exercise, the 'keystone' holding everything together would be regular Chiropractic care.  Keeping your spine in proper alignment not only maintains structural integrity, but keeps your Nerve System functioning at its optimum – and without a clear Nerve System, your body couldn’t take full advantage of all those good habits in the first place.

Can your body withstand the loads of Life without Chiropractic care? Eating right and getting enough rest are important to guarding your health, but it's a strong Nerve System (supported by regular spinal adjustments) that keeps everything in place. Make sure you're not missing this important keystone.

Blueprint vs. Builder

Blueprint vs. Builder

You can possess the most beautiful, detailed and well thought out set of blueprints for a mansion, but without a competent general contractor to execute those plans, the structure doesn't get built. The plan is worthless without a builder.

You can have the perfect blend of DNA - Brad Pitt's good looks, Einstein's intellect, Michael Jordan's athletic ability.  But your genetic jackpot would stay dormant without an innate intelligence to turn the sequence on, yielding the perfect end product. The code is useless without Life.

In medicine, much emphasis is placed on the blueprint's (DNA's) influence on health, while in Chiropractic, emphasis is rightly given to the Power which creates and animates the matter in the first place. The former is USELESS without the latter.

Evidence Based Mistakes

Evidence Based Mistakes

A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery shows that removing tonsils and adenoids in the first 9 years of the child’s life can be very detrimental to their health and future immune function.

Bad thyroid, take it out... Misbehaving gall bladder, time for it to go... The innate wisdom that perfectly designed your body has a reason for everything - your tonsils, your appendix and even that little dangling thing in the back of your throat (10 points if you can name it!)  It's a bold assumption to hastily remove any body just because its lab numbers don't measure up.

When every few months, a new article questions or reverses some healthcare dogma, can you really trust any evidenced based care when current evidence proves past evidence to be wrong? It's evident that trusting the Wisdom that put it there in the first place is the safest bet.
