David was sculpted out of a “ruined” block of marble rejected by all his contemporaries. In choosing the block, Michelangelo said that he looked past the flaws to visualize the figure that had to be freed.  He then merely chipped away at what was NOT David to reveal the masterpiece. Likewise, in his dramatic series known as the Captives, partially sculpted figures appear as if they are escaping from the stone that imprisons them. Subluxated patients are very similar.

Within each subluxated individual is a masterpiece waiting to emerge. Like Michelangelo, a skillful Chiropractor sees the potential health within every patient. Years of stress, trauma and fear acting as granite which entombs your potential - every adjustment acting as a finely placed chisel strike that gently chips away the stone to free the beautiful Life inside you. With time and persistency, a fine piece of art emerges.

No matter how covered, disfigured or unfinished you may feel, stay consistent with your care. Every adjustment that chips away at nerve interference reveals the amazing, healthy person who lies within you.

So what’s with the popping associated with certain types of Chiropractic adjustments?  Isn’t cracking your joints supposed to be bad for you?

Not all Chiropractic techniques involve the ‘cavitation’ of joints (the escape of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, which releases joint pressure).  Some use table or instrument assisted adjustments where no appreciable cavitation is experienced.  The ones that do however are no less safe, comfortable and effective at reducing spinal fixation, clearing nerve interference (subluxations) and improving your health.  As a matter of fact, it’s been shown by John Hopkins University that joint cavitation (specifically in the hand) does not contribute to the formation of arthritis as falsely believed by grandmothers worldwide!

When you hear the noise from a professionally delivered adjustment, it’s similar to the pressure release you get from opening a bottle of champagne.  It’s like having a party in your spine!  Ultimately, with less pressure your joints move better, line up better and just plain feel better.

The strength and stability of an arch is unparalleled in architecture.  Each block supports massive loads from above while evenly dissipating stress to the foundation below - the most important block being the keystone. Without it, the entire structure would fail.

A titration test analyzes how many drops of chemical it takes to create a specific reaction - usually a change in solution color.  Drop by drop, the reagent is added until an observable change is seen.  And if asked which drop finally made the difference, the correct answer would be they all did.

Chiropractic care works in similar fashion.  Often a patient will exclaim after a visit '...doc, that last adjustment really did it, I felt better right away.'  In reality, it wasn't just the ONE adjustment that did the trick - the past ones contributed, as will the future ones.  The effect is cumulative.

When adjusted regularly, drop by drop, you eventually reap the rewards in improved health, higher function and realized potential.  If you ever wonder which adjustment changed your Life for the better?  The answer is - they all did, and will continue to do so.

"Seeing the forest for the trees" is an expression of PERSPECTIVE. It's the ability to step back and see the whole picture of a given situation, instead of clinging to a narrow, limited, myopic one. Focusing on the BIG IDEA is necessary to achieving any worthy goal.

We commonly hear newer patients say... my migraines, my sciatica, my fibromyalgia - labeling themselves by their doctor's diagnosis instead seeing themselves as the healthy people they want to be. Unfortunately when it comes to healing, holding on to your symptoms is as beneficial as hugging a tree and never letting go. You can't see the forest of wellness if you insist on clinging to the trunk of disease.

You don't get healthy by focusing on sickness. You get healthy by letting go, stepping back and acknowledging who you REALLY are... an innately gifted human being, capable of healing from above down, inside out. It's our job as your Chiropractor to never let you forget it.

You've probably set goals to improve your lifestyle and get your health on track for the New Year. The question is, are you hanging out with the right people to succeed?

There's a saying that goes 'if you want to be happy, hang out with happy people.' The same can be said for being HEALTHY. Ever notice the people who hang out at the Chiropractor's office? They're generally health conscious and excited about Life. Most of them didn't start off that way. At some point they decided to maintain their spines like other happy, healthy Chiropractic clients and eventually became happier and healthier people themselves.

If you're resolved to being more sick, more tired and more medicated, then hang out at your local pharmacy or hospital. On the other hand, if you're committed to renewing your health and improving your Life in 2019, then spend more time with people who can get you there. We'll be hanging out at the Chiropractor's office.
